ISLAMABAD – APRIL 7- Indian social media accounts are reportedly being accused of distorting remarks made by Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed during a recent talk show on Dunya News, in what some observers describe as an attempt to create artificial friction between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

According to supporters of Mushahid Hussain Syed, his comments were originally intended as a call for caution against external propaganda campaigns that seek to undermine trust between Pakistan and its Gulf partners. However, these remarks are now being circulated online in a misrepresented form, allegedly to fuel misunderstanding between the two countries.

Political commentators in Pakistan argue that such distortions reflect a broader pattern of information manipulation during periods of heightened regional sensitivity, where narratives are selectively edited to serve geopolitical messaging rather than factual context.

They further emphasize that Pakistan and the UAE share long-standing fraternal relations rooted in deep economic, strategic, and people-to-people ties. In this context, they warn that attempts to sow division between the two countries are unlikely to succeed given the strength of bilateral cooperation.

Observers also note that misinformation campaigns targeting regional partnerships have become increasingly common across digital platforms, often amplifying tensions through selective clips and out-of-context statements.

Analysts stress the importance of verifying original sources before drawing conclusions, particularly when dealing with sensitive diplomatic relationships in an already volatile regional environment.
