Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed an important press conference on the completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq. He said that even after one year of the Pahalgam incident, India has failed to present any concrete evidence.
The DG ISPR questioned that if Indian intelligence was truly so effective, how it failed to detect an incident occurring hundreds of kilometers inside its territory in advance. He stated that after Marka-e-Haq, India’s decades-old “terrorism claims” have been permanently exposed and collapsed.
Pakistan’s Responsible Conduct
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that during the period of heightened tensions, Pakistan exercised maximum restraint and responsibility to prevent escalation. He criticized the political tone of Indian military leadership, saying that it continued to promote the narrative of its political leadership, while Pakistan’s armed forces maintained a fully professional approach.
He added that India repeatedly tried to project itself as a regional “net security provider,” but the world has seen who actually prioritizes regional stability.
Changing Dimensions of Modern Warfare
The DG ISPR highlighted that modern warfare is no longer limited to traditional borders, but now extends to cyber space, information warfare, and human perception.
He said Pakistan has effectively countered these multidimensional challenges and proven its superiority across all domains. He made it clear that Pakistan’s sovereignty will never be compromised and any aggression will be met with a strong response.
Terror Networks in Afghanistan
DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that Pakistan has identified terrorist networks operating from within Afghanistan and has taken steps to dismantle them.
He said that the roots of terrorism are linked to the use of Afghan territory, and Pakistan has consistently preferred dialogue and diplomacy, maintaining that no country’s land should be used against another.
According to him, these actions have improved regional security and influenced the balance of power in the region.
Internal Situation and Contradictions in India
During the press conference, he also highlighted internal issues in India, including unrest in Manipur and human rights violations in Kashmir.
He said India uses propaganda against Pakistan to divert attention from its internal problems and communal tensions. He also revealed that during Marka-e-Haq, after facing setbacks, India allegedly attempted to seek support through Afghan-linked channels, reflecting a nexus between Hindutva-linked extremist elements.
National Unity and Future Resolve
In conclusion, he praised national unity, stating that Marka-e-Haq proved the nation, leadership, and armed forces are on one page.
Quoting the founding principles of Pakistan, he said that no conspiracy against the country can succeed. Pakistan desires peace in the region but remains fully prepared and vigilant to defend its sovereignty at all times.
