ISLAMABAD_ Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty will arrive in Pakistan for an official two-day visit, the Foreign Office (FO) said on Saturday. The visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, signaling renewed momentum in Pakistan–Egypt diplomatic engagement. https://x.com/htnworld/status/1994648811764158641?s=20
According to the FO, the visit will reflect the longstanding and cordial relationship between Pakistan and Egypt, rooted in shared faith, cultural heritage, and similar positions on major regional and international developments. The trip is expected to reinforce the strategic direction of bilateral relations while expanding cooperation in political, economic, defense, cultural, and people-to-people fields.
During his stay, Abdelatty will hold a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by delegation-level talks with FM Ishaq Dar. Both sides will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on urgent global issues, particularly the evolving situation in Gaza.
The FO noted that the visit will help advance the longstanding Pakistan–Egypt partnership, strengthening collaboration on regional diplomacy, economic connectivity, and security coordination.
This diplomatic engagement will follow a series of high-level interactions between the two countries. In May, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi conveyed Egypt’s desire for stronger ties with Pakistan during a phone call with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In October, PM Shehbaz and FM Dar visited Egypt to attend the peace summit on Gaza in Sharm el-Sheikh, joining world leaders working toward a ceasefire agreement.
The same month, Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir also visited Egypt, where he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to elevating defence and military cooperation.
The upcoming visit by Egypt’s foreign minister is set to mark an important step toward broadening bilateral engagement and aligning both countries on key regional and global challenges.
