Mastung, Balochistan – In a significant counter-terrorism operation, Pakistan security forces successfully neutralized five militants belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Mastung district. The clash occurred during an intelligence-based operation aimed at dismantling insurgent networks operating in the region.

According to local authorities, the operation was conducted after credible information was received about the presence of armed militants in a remote area of Mastung. Security forces engaged the militants in a controlled encounter, resulting in the elimination of five insurgents. No casualties among the security personnel were reported.

Officials also recovered a range of weapons and explosives from the site, including assault rifles, ammunition, and communication devices, indicating the operational capability of the BLA in the region.

A spokesperson for the Frontier Corps Balochistan stated, “This operation demonstrates our continued commitment to safeguarding the people of Balochistan. The BLA’s attempts to destabilize the region will not be tolerated, and all available resources will be deployed to ensure security.”

The BLA, a proscribed militant organization, has been responsible for several attacks targeting civilians, security personnel, and infrastructure in Balochistan over the past decade. Authorities emphasized that counter-insurgency efforts will continue across the province to eliminate threats to peace and stability.

Security experts note that Mastung, given its strategic location, has occasionally been used as a transit point for insurgent activities. Recent operations like this one are part of a broader campaign to strengthen law enforcement presence and prevent the resurgence of militant groups.

The local population expressed relief over the operation, calling for sustained efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region.
