June 12,2025: A flight crash shook Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday evening. A London-bound Air India flight crashed during take-off, sparking immediate panic and a massive emergency response.
The incident happened around 6:30 PM. According to officials, the aircraft veered off the runway during what should have been a routine departure. As a result, thick smoke and loud noise engulfed the area.
Soon after the crash, the airport activated emergency protocols. Firefighters from five city divisions rushed to the site. “Fire control efforts are ongoing as a safety measure,” said an officer from Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services.
