Pakistan’s military has confirmed that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq is ongoing, with senior officials sharing new details about recent strikes and border clashes with Afghanistan. The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations said the operation is aimed at protecting citizens and ensuring national security. He stressed that the campaign will continue until terrorist threats are fully eliminated.
According to the briefing, Pakistani forces carried out targeted actions against specific military sites linked to hostile elements. An infantry brigade headquarters in Kabul and another brigade headquarters in Kandahar were among the locations hit. In addition, selected targets were struck in areas such as Paktia. The military spokesperson said the night time scenes in Kabul were witnessed globally, showing the scale of the operation.
At the same time, tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border have sharply increased. Heavy exchanges of fire were reported across multiple sectors, raising concerns about regional stability. Despite this, officials repeated that Pakistan remains focused on security goals rather than escalation.
Border Clashes and Losses on Both Sides
Meanwhile, DG ISPR stated that Afghan forces opened fire at dozens of locations along the border. In response, Pakistani troops returned fire and destroyed several hostile positions. The military claimed that more than 70 enemy posts were destroyed, while several strategic positions were taken under control.
In terms of casualties, officials said hundreds of enemy fighters were either killed or injured during the operation. However, the briefing also acknowledged losses on the Pakistani side. Twelve soldiers were martyred while defending the country, and more than two dozen were wounded. The spokesperson paid tribute to their sacrifices and said the nation stands with its armed forces.
Elsewhere, attempts to launch drone attacks in Abbottabad and Nowshera were also reported. These attempts were detected early and stopped before causing damage, according to the military.
Call for Unity and Diplomatic Efforts
DG ISPR urged national unity in the fight against terrorism & said there is no space in Pakistan for militants or their supporters. The spokesperson added that the operation is being carried out under the direction of the prime minister, who has been fully briefed.
On the international front, calls for restraint have begun to emerge. Global powers have encouraged both countries to avoid further escalation and resolve issues through dialogue. While military action continues, diplomatic channels are also active to prevent the situation from worsening.
