Quetta – 30 April 2025: In a significant escalation of counterterrorism efforts, Pakistani security forces have eliminated 10 militants in two separate intelligence based operation (IBOs) in Balochistan’s Kech and Ziarat districts.​

Kech Operation: Three Militants Neutralized

In Kech district, near Turbat, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation. During the operation, a heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of three militants. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the slain militants were involved in multiple attacks against security forces and civilians.​

Ziarat Operation: Seven Militants Killed

Separately, in the Choteer area of Ziarat district, security forces launched an intelligence based operation following inputs about militant hideouts. The operation led to a two-hour-long firefight, during which seven militants were killed. Hand grenades were used by the militants during the encounter. The bodies were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Ziarat.​

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for their successful operations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism. He reiterated that the terrorists are enemies of peace and prosperity in Balochistan, and the nation stands united with its security forces in defending the motherland.

These operations underscore Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and restore peace in the region.​
