Protests against rising inflation have spread to over 250 locations across 27 out of 31 provinces in Iran, escalating tensions nationwide. Clashes between demonstrators and security forces have been reported in multiple cities.

Human rights activists from HRANA report that at least 35 people have been killed and over 1,200 individuals arrested during more than a week of demonstrations. University students are participating in large numbers, organizing separate protests in various cities.

Security Forces Clash With Demonstrators Across Cities

Semi-official Fars News Agency reported that around 250 police officers and 45 Basij volunteers sustained injuries during the protests. In many cities, authorities struggle to control the escalating situation.

Protesters claim that soaring prices of daily essentials have made life unbearable and demand immediate, effective government action. The demonstrations are primarily fueled by economic hardship and rising inflation.
Iranian Government Announces Financial Relief Measures

In response to public pressure, the Iranian government announced a financial relief package, granting citizens a $7 monthly allowance for the next four months. Officials stated this measure provides immediate relief while they continue planning long-term economic solutions.

Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that the government cannot ignore protesters’ legitimate demands, but emphasized the need to prevent any alleged foreign conspiracies. Authorities are committed to listening to citizens while maintaining public order.

International Reactions Highlight US Intervention Concerns
