Abu Dhabi / Fujairah — Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated following reports of missile exchanges and a drone strike targeting a key petroleum facility in the UAE’s emirate of Fujairah.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, multiple missiles were reportedly launched from Iran. Three were intercepted mid-air by advanced air defense systems, while one fell into the sea.
At the same time, a drone attack struck a petroleum industrial installation in Fujairah, triggering a major fire at the oil facility. Authorities confirmed the incident and said emergency response teams were immediately deployed to contain the blaze.
Strong Reaction from UAE Leadership
A senior advisor to the UAE president issued a firm response, stating that the United Arab Emirates would not allow Iranian actions to reshape the region’s future through escalation. He added that choosing aggression over diplomacy with neighboring countries is unacceptable.
Iran Responds with Warning
In response, Iran issued a strong statement through semi-official media channels, warning the UAE against aligning with Israel. Iranian sources cautioned that any military miscalculation would be met with a decisive and severe response.
Regional and Global Concerns Rise
Following these developments, diplomatic tensions across the region have intensified. The UAE has reportedly placed all key installations on high alert, while the international community has expressed deep concern over the rapidly escalating situation, warning that continued confrontation could destabilize the broader Middle East.
