Islamabad — Following the tragic suicide attack at an Imambargah in the Tarlai area of Islamabad, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council and head of the National Message of Peace Committee, Allama Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, strongly condemned the act of terrorism, delivering a clear message that Pakistan will never show weakness in the face of elements hostile to the country.

A high-level delegation of the National Message of Peace Committee, led by Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, visited PIMS Hospital, where they paid respects to those injured in the suicide attack, inquired about their medical condition from doctors, and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing treatment. The delegation included scholars and clerics from all schools of thought, who reiterated their commitment that the entire nation will stand united against the scourge of terrorism.

Later, the delegation also visited Tarlai, where the scholars and clerics condoled with the families of those martyred in the attack, prayed for their forgiveness and the elevation of their ranks in the hereafter, and expressed solidarity with the grieving families, emphasizing that the whole nation shares their sorrow.

Speaking to the media, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that those who are enemies of Islam and Pakistan will face a united front. He issued a warning to Afghanistan, stating that if Pakistan can defeat a country eight times its size, such as India, then testing Pakistan’s resolve and capability is not wise. He added that Pakistan desires peace but will never compromise on its security.

In his video message, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi also strongly condemned the attack at the Imambargah, calling it a brutal crime against Islam, humanity, and the sanctity of places of worship. He stated that the perpetrators of the attack have no connection to Islam or human values. He cited historical examples of revered Islamic leaders, including Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) and Hazrat Ali (RA), who were also targeted in places of worship, demonstrating that such attacks represent extremist agendas, not Islam.

He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Ulema Council, the National Message of Peace Committee, and scholars from all schools of thought unanimously reject all forms of terrorism. Targeting innocent lives in places of worship is a serious crime against both religion and humanity, and there is no tolerance for it.

Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi prayed for the martyrs, a speedy recovery for the injured, and patience and perseverance for the affected families. He emphasized national unity, stating that the Pakistani people and security institutions stand shoulder to shoulder against terrorism, and that the collective resolve to eliminate extremism is stronger than ever.

He made it clear that such cowardly attacks are failed attempts to sabotage Pakistan’s peace, and that hostile elements will never succeed in their nefarious objectives. Pakistan will continue its fight against terrorism with full determination, and with Allah’s grace, peace and stability will prevail in the country.
