Security and administrative preparations in Islamabad have entered their final phase ahead of the historic US–Iran negotiations scheduled to take place in the federal capital.
A special high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved a comprehensive security plan, including special arrangements for foreign delegations and stringent measures for the Red Zone.
Visa-on-Arrival Facility for Delegates
During the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced a major facilitation decision to provide “visa-on-arrival” for foreign delegates attending the talks. He directed all relevant authorities to ensure maximum ease, security, and hospitality for international guests, stressing that no effort should be spared in ensuring a smooth diplomatic process.
He described the hosting of direct US–Iran talks in Islamabad after the recent ceasefire as a significant honor for Pakistan and evidence of its successful diplomatic engagement.
Strict Security Measures and Control Room Established
According to the approved security plan, the Red Zone will be completely sealed during the negotiations, with entry restricted only to authorized personnel.
A dedicated control room has also been established at the Ministry of Interior to monitor all activities around the clock and respond immediately to any security situation.
Authorities have placed Islamabad on high alert to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for the high-level diplomatic engagement.
Islamabad as Emerging Diplomatic Hub
Officials say Pakistan is once again emerging as a key center for global diplomacy, hosting high-stakes negotiations aimed at promoting regional stability and long-term peace.
