Doha – Israel carried out airstrikes on Hamas leadership in the Qatari capital Doha. Israeli officials have confirmed the attack.

A Hamas leader has also confirmed that his negotiating delegation was targeted during a meeting in Doha.

According to eyewitnesses, several explosions were heard in the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday.

It should be noted that the statement issued by the Israel Defense Forces on X has confirmed that they have targeted the senior leadership of Hamas in an attack; however, in this statement, they have not confirmed or explained where or in which country the attack on the Hamas leadership was carried out.

An eyewitness said that clouds of smoke were seen rising in the ‘Katara’ area of ​​the capital.

It should be noted that Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz had threatened on Monday that “This is a final warning to Hamas in Gaza and abroad. They must release the prisoners and surrender immediately, otherwise Gaza will be destroyed, and they will be annihilated.’

No casualties were reported, Hamas

Although the deaths of Hamas leaders Khalil al-Hayyah and Khaled Meshaal were claimed immediately after the attack, this was confirmed by international media. However, Hamas has said in its statement that Hamas leaders who were at a meeting in the Qatari capital Doha were safe in the Israeli attack.

It should be noted that the Israeli army has claimed to have killed senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya in an airstrike in Qatar.

According to Arab media, five senior Hamas leaders, Khalid Meshaal, Khalil al-Hayya, Zahir Jabareen, Muhammad Darwish, and Abu Marzouk, were present at the meeting during the Israeli bombing.

According to Hamas sources, the meeting was chaired by senior leader Dr. Khalil al-Hayya.

Now, Hamas sources have claimed that the Hamas leaders present at the meeting in Doha were safe in the Israeli attack.

On the other hand, independent sources have now claimed that although the Hamas leadership was safe in the attack, five Hamas members were killed. The dead include Khalil al-Hayya’s office director, Jihad Labad, his son Hammam al-Hayya, Abdullah Abdul Wahid, Momin Hussein, and Ahmed al-Muluk.

Qatar’s response

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, responding to the attack, said that “The state condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly Israeli attack targeting the residences of Hamas political bureau leaders in Doha. This criminal attack is a clear violation of international laws and principles and poses a serious threat to the security of Qatari citizens and residents.”

The Ministry confirmed that the security agencies, civil defense, and relevant authorities acted immediately and took the necessary measures to control the situation and ensure the safety of residents and the surrounding areas.

Qatari Prime Minister Reiterates Commitment to Retaliation

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Qassim Al Thani said in a video message that Netanyahu is a bandit and is committing state terrorism. “We have formed a legal team to launch legal action against this attack.”

He said that “We confirm that Qatar will never tolerate any attack on its sovereignty and reserves the right to retaliate against this heinous attack.”

 

US claims and Qatar’s response

The White House administration has claimed that Qatar was informed in advance about the Israeli attack on Hamas negotiators. According to the World News Agency, White House spokesperson Caroline said that the US military was the first to inform President Trump about the attack on time.

After which, President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff informed Qatari authorities in advance about the attack.

The White House spokesman said that bombing an ally like Qatar goes against the goals of both the United States and Israel, but eliminating Hamas is a laudable goal.

On the other hand, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari rejected the White House claim, saying that the US official’s call was received during the bombings, not before.

Qatar’s claim of US condemnation

On the other hand, according to the Qatari Emiri Diwan, President Trump spoke by telephone with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and condemned the attack.

The Emir of Qatar said that this attack is a clear aggression on the sovereignty and security of Qatar, which is endangering the stability of the region. Qatar is taking all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty

Pakistan’s response

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on Qatar. In his statement, he said that “On behalf of the people of Pakistan and the Government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, I strongly condemn the illegal and brutal bombing incident by Israeli forces in Doha, which targeted a residential area and endangered the lives of innocent civilians.”

He said that “Our deepest sympathies and solidarity are with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the royal family of Qatar, and the people of Qatar. This aggressive move by Israel is completely unjustified, a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a very dangerous provocation that could endanger the peace and stability of the region.”

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar in its statement.

Saudi Arabia condemns

The Saudi Foreign Ministry has condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar in the strongest terms, calling it an act of aggression and a serious violation of international law.

The statement said that Saudi Arabia expresses full solidarity and cooperation with Qatar and will provide all possible support for it.

Saudi Arabia warned that the Israeli actions will lead to serious consequences, as these criminal acts are a clear violation of international norms and laws.

The Foreign Ministry called on the international community to condemn this aggression and take immediate measures to stop the Israeli violations that are harming the peace and stability of the region.

On the other hand, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made a telephone call to the Emir of Qatar and assured him of possible assistance.

Iran condemns

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei called Israel’s attack on Qatar a “blatant violation of international law” and an “attack on the national sovereignty of Qatar and the Palestinian negotiators” during an interview on state TV.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that “this incident is a ‘serious message’ to the region and the international community.”

Britain and other countries also condemned the Israeli attack

The British Prime Minister also strongly condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a clear violation of international law.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack in an X post, stating the attack is unacceptable in any form.

In addition, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Japan also strongly condemned the Israeli attacks.

All countries strongly criticized the Israeli aggression and urged Israel to abide by international law.

The attack was carried out under the supervision of Netanyahu

The Israeli security agency Shin Bet said that the Israeli prime minister was present at the agency’s headquarters when the Hamas delegation was targeted in the Qatari capital of Doha.

The Shin Bet spokesman said that the attack on the ‘high leadership of Hamas’ was a joint operation by the agency and the Israeli army.

According to the Shin Bet spokesman, Defense Minister Israel Katz was also present at the agency’s headquarters at the time of the attack in Doha.

F-15 flights in Qatar

Qatari F-15 warplanes began circling in the air after Israel’s airstrike on Doha.

According to Hamas sources, a meeting of several Hamas leaders was underway at the time of the airstrike, and the Hamas leaders were considering the US president’s proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Israel attacks 5 countries in 24 hours

The attack on 5 countries, including Qatar, a few hours before the session, can be considered an attempt to put pressure on the international community.
