BAJAUR, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA —A key commander of the Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Mandal area of Salarzai Tehsil, Bajaur district.

Officials identified the slain militant as Arab Khan, also known by his aliases Ziauddin and Idrees. According to government sources, he was one of the most wanted ISIS-K operatives in the region and had been on the radar of security agencies for several years.

Linked to Multiple Attacks on Security Forces

Arab Khan had reportedly been involved in numerous attacks against law enforcement agencies over the past four years. Security officials confirmed that arrest warrants had long been issued against him due to his role in orchestrating and facilitating terror activities in Bajaur and adjoining tribal areas.

Security Agencies Expect Improved Stability

Security sources expressed hope that his death would contribute to an improvement in the law-and-order situation in Bajaur, which has recently seen a resurgence in militant activity.

While the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether it resulted from an internal rift within the militant group or a targeted operation.
