Khyber Pakhtunkhwa— Pakistan’s security forces killed 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 12 and 13, 2025 the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
The operations were carried out in Mohmand and Bannu districts following reports of militant presence in the areas.
According to the ISPR, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces in Mohmand district after receiving information about the presence of militants.
During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militant hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were killed.
In a separate operation in Bannu district, security forces neutralized six more militants during another intelligence-based action.
The ISPR said both operations were conducted successfully and without any reported casualties among security personnel.
The military described the militants as being linked to an Indian-sponsored network and said sanitization operations are ongoing in both areas to eliminate any remaining threats.
These follow-up actions are aimed at ensuring that no militants escape and that the areas are fully cleared.
The ISPR said the operations are part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The campaign involves coordinated efforts by security forces and law enforcement agencies to counter terrorism across the country.
Reaffirming its resolve, the ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and maintaining peace and stability.
It added that operations against foreign-sponsored and supported militancy will continue at full pace until the threat is completely eliminated.
The statement concluded by noting that such actions reflect the state’s firm determination to protect citizens and uphold national security in the face of ongoing security challenges.
