Security forces have stopped two major infiltration attempts along the Pakistan Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and killed 13 militants. The operations took place in Mohmand district and North Waziristan after timely intelligence helped troops detect suspicious movement near the border.
According to ISPR, security forces first engaged a group in Mohmand district. As a result, eight militants were killed during a focused operation. Soon after, another group tried to cross the border in North Waziristan. Following a heavy exchange of fire, five more militants were neutralized.
Border security operations continue
Meanwhile, ISPR stated that all those killed belonged to a militant group backed by hostile elements from outside Pakistan. The statement also urged the Afghan interim authorities to prevent their territory from being used for attacks inside Pakistan.
At the same time, security forces have started further clearance operations in nearby areas. Officials said these actions are part of ongoing efforts to secure the border and protect civilians. Under the national counterterrorism campaign Azm e Istehkam, operations will continue until all threats are removed and peace is fully restored.
