The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has clarified that the country’s airspace remains fully operational and safe for all civil aviation. The authority rejected recent media claims suggesting a partial closure of airspace for commercial flights, calling such reports “incorrect and misleading.”
According to the PAA, all airport operations and air traffic services are continuing normally. There are no restrictions on arrivals, departures, or overflights, ensuring that flights continue to operate smoothly across Pakistan.
The clarification comes after NOTAM A0134/26, which references a routine operational advisory (A0130/26) for the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions. This notice covers temporary unavailability of certain air traffic route segments from March 3 to March 31 during daily windows of 0900 to 1500 PKT. The segments are closed from ground level to unlimited altitude for standard operational reasons.
However, the authority assured that alternative routing options are in place and are being used effectively to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow. Air traffic controllers and airport teams are managing operations as usual, preventing any disruptions to commercial or overflight traffic.
The PAA urged media outlets and social media users to rely on official information to prevent unnecessary concern among passengers. Travelers are advised to continue their schedules as planned, knowing that Pakistan’s airspace is fully functional and monitored for safety at all times.
