Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, held a significant meeting with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha, where the full spectrum of bilateral relations was reviewed, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, which is being seen as a symbol of high-level national coordination and joint strategic planning.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar and appreciated the positive momentum in political ties. The parties agreed to further expand cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic collaboration, energy, investment, and trade. The Emir of Qatar reiterated his commitment to taking economic cooperation with Pakistan to a higher strategic level.
During the meeting, regional and global developments were also discussed. Both leaders emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful means provide the foundation for lasting stability in resolving conflicts. They also agreed to continue close cooperation in multilateral forums and maintain consultations on important regional issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Pakistan, which he happily accepted. His visit is expected later this year, and it is anticipated that it will add a practical dimension to bilateral relations.
