Islamabad – Pakistan’s young cricketers have made the nation proud by securing a massive victory in the Under-19 Asia Cup final against India.

Playing in Dubai, the team showcased a brand of cricket that led to a glorious Asia Cup Triumph, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up.

The star of the show was opener Sameer Minhas, who played a breathtaking innings of 172 runs, leading Pakistan to a crushing 191-run win.

The journey to this trophy started back in June, when the management launched an extensive talent hunt.

According to Head Coach Shahid Anwer, they tried out 70 players; this gave a fair chance to all young players to demonstrate their talents.

“We wanted to play fearless but not careless cricket. We wanted a united team and the result is in front of us,” he added.

The final team was made after a five-month-long training camp that formed a unified team of players that was well prepared to take on any challenge confidently and with a smile.

Mentorship and Professionalism

Team mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed, who took Pakistan to a world title in 2006, was crucial in raising the morale of the boys. He urged them to play their natural game and remain concentrated on the task at hand.

Although the pressure of a final is never low against an opponent, Sarfaraz underlined that an Asia Cup Triumph is also associated with remaining professional.

Captain Farhan Yousaf shared that the coaches took all the pressure upon themselves, telling the players that any loss would be the management’s concern, while every victory would belong to the team.

A Bright Future Ahead

After arriving in Islamabad, the team was awarded a cash award of Rs 10 million by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The win has brought a wave of happiness, proving that the future of Pakistani cricket is in the right hands.
