New York, June 2 — In response to recent Indian aggression, Pakistan has launched a diplomatic outreach campaign to present its peaceful stance on regional tensions. A high-level, nine-member multiparty delegation, led by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, arrived in New York to begin strategic engagements with global leaders.

High-Level Diplomatic Meetings Begin in New York

Following the Prime Minister’s directive, the delegation immediately kicked off its mission by holding meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the President of the UN General Assembly, and ambassadors from both permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. Furthermore, the delegation plans to address a joint session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) envoys.

Starting June 3, the delegation will meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior US administration officials, members of Congress, analysts from leading think tanks, and prominent media representatives. These engagements aim to promote Pakistan’s position as a responsible regional actor that seeks peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy.

Parallel Engagements in Moscow and Europe

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi will lead another delegation to Moscow today. Additionally, both groups will travel to Washington, London, and Brusels to expand Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach.

The Foreign Office emphasized that the delegations intend to project Pakistan’s responsible and restrained response to India’s reckless and belligerent actions. They will also assert Pakistan’s commitment to international law and highlight its desire for peace in South Asia. Therefore, the delegations will urge the international community to fulfill its role in stabilizing the region.

Peaceful Stance Drives Focus on Regional Peace and the Indus Waters Treaty

Senator Sherry Rehman stressed that these engagements carry strategic importance and are not mere photo opportunities. She further highlighted Pakistan’s status as a responsible and stable middle power, reaffirming that the country bases its foreign policy firmly on adherence to international law.

Moreover, Rehman firmly rejected India’s fabricated narrative that attempts to link Pakistan with terrorism as a justification for hostility. She warned against allowing such tactics to shape international discourse and declared that Pakistan will not participate in any Indian “film script.”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has presented Pakistan’s firm position on critical issues including Kashmir, the Indus Waters Treaty, and violations of international law. As these diplomatic missions continue, Pakistan actively promotes its peaceful stance on the global stage.
