Military diplomacy between Pakistan and China took center stage on Friday as the 98th founding day of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was commemorated at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The event reflected the deepening strategic and defense ties between the two neighbors.
Senior military and government officials attended the ceremony, including Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also sent a special message to mark the occasion.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, in his address, highlighted the historic relationship between the two countries. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in her statement, congratulated China on PLA’s 98th anniversary. She acknowledged the PLA’s role in promoting peace and security. “The contributions of China’s armed forces are not only regional but global in scope,” she said.

The ceremony also served as a symbolic reaffirmation of the two nations’ unwavering military partnership. As the Chinese Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s gesture of hosting the event, he reiterated Beijing’s full support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development goals.
