Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed on a four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Türkiye, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The visit, scheduled from April 15 to 18, aims to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and engage key international stakeholders on regional peace and security.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar are bilateral in nature. During these engagements, the Prime Minister will meet senior leadership of both countries to discuss economic partnerships, investment opportunities, and ongoing cooperative projects.
Focus on Economic Cooperation and Regional Stability
Officials stated that discussions will also cover the broader regional situation and potential coordinated approaches toward global peace and stability. Strengthening economic ties and expanding investment cooperation are expected to remain central themes of the meetings.
Participation in Antalya Diplomacy Forum
In the second phase of the tour, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Türkiye, where he will participate in the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. He is expected to represent Pakistan’s position in the Leaders’ Panel alongside other global heads of state.
On the sidelines of the forum, meetings are also expected with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other world leaders, with emphasis on multilateral diplomacy and global cooperation.
Pakistan’s Expanding Diplomatic Role
Diplomatic observers note that the visit comes at a time when Pakistan is increasingly being viewed as a facilitator in regional peace efforts. Issues such as Pakistan-mediated US–Iran discussions and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz are also expected to be part of high-level consultations.
