President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said Pakistan’s strategic location gives it strong economic potential and makes it a natural link between South Asia, Central Asia, China and the Middle East.
He made these remarks while addressing a reception at the headquarters of Bahrain’s Economic Development Board (EDB) during his four-day visit to the kingdom.
According to a statement from the President’s Office, President Zardari said Pakistan’s geographic connectivity matches well with Bahrain’s financial expertise and strong regulatory system.
He said this combination can help both countries build stronger economic ties.
The president stressed that Pakistan wants to expand economic cooperation, boost investment partnerships and strengthen institutional links with Bahrain.
He praised the role of the Economic Development Board and said it plays a key part in shaping Bahrain’s economic strategy and attracting foreign investment.
He said the EDB’s close work with government institutions and the private sector has helped Bahrain improve competitiveness, support innovation and create a stable and friendly environment for investors.
President Zardari said Bahrain’s development model can also serve as a useful example for countries that want to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
