Web Desk: A team of top doctors from Islamabad’s leading hospitals arrived at Adiala Jail on Sunday to conduct a detailed medical examination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to the jail superintendent, the medical board were present since 2:30 p.m., waiting for representation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.
Despite the government’s invitation and extended waiting, no PTI leaders attended the check-up. The absence of party representatives drew visible frustration and anger from party workers.
The medical team carried all necessary equipment and medicines to conduct the examination. Under the supervision of the medical board, doctors conducted a detailed eye check-up of the former prime minister. Full arrangements for a comprehensive medical assessment had already been completed in advance.
Jail Authorities emphasised that the health check would proceed even without party representatives to ensure timely medical evaluation. “We cannot delay critical health measures for any reason,” superintendent jail said.
Sources revealed that Khan had been transferred to Al Shifa Hospital the previous night due to an ongoing eye issue. Doctors performed a brief 20-minute procedure before returning him to the jail. Hospital authorities are expected to release an official statement regarding the treatment soon.
Security measures remained tight throughout the check-up, and officials said the medical team would compile a report soon. The final medical report is expected to be submitted to the relevant authorities.
Analysts noted that any updates regarding the former prime minister’s health carry significant weight in the current political climate. Meanwhile, authorities maintained that all medical procedures were conducted in accordance with rules and regulations and in a transparent manner.
