Shehbaz Sharif contacted Sohail Afridi by telephone after the recent terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in Bannu. During the conversation, the prime minister strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives.
He also shared his condolences with the families of the martyred police personnel and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the incident. In addition, he said the sacrifices made by security forces and police officers in the fight against terrorism would not be forgotten.
Federal Government Promises Complete Cooperation Against Terrorism
Meanwhile, the prime minister reaffirmed that the federal government would continue working closely with provincial governments to eliminate terrorism from the country. He said the Pakistan government would provide every possible military and administrative support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to maintain peace and security in the region.
Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif stated that all state institutions were united in the fight against terrorism. He added that the country would continue its efforts until this threat was completely removed.
Both leaders also paid tribute to the brave personnel of the armed forces, security agencies and police who are serving on the front lines against terrorism. The prime minister said the blood of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the state would hold those responsible accountable.
