Web Desk: A suicide bomber struck a madrassa in the Malangi area of Bajaur district on Monday, targeting a security post jointly manned by security forces and police, according to local sources.

The attacker detonated explosives inside the seminary, where a security checkpoint had been established, martyring security personnel and affecting nearby civilians.

The powerful explosion caused the roof of the madrassa to collapse and damaged several surrounding houses, residents said. Authorities confirmed that members of the security forces were martyred in the attack, while civilians in the vicinity were also affected. A number of non-combatants were reported killed.

Soon after the blast, security forces and rescue teams rushed to the scene. They cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to secure the vicinity and assess the damage.

Meanwhile, emergency responders transported the injured to nearby medical facilities, where doctors were providing treatment.

Security agencies have begun investigating the nature and motive of the attack. Law enforcement agencies tightened security across the area and initiated efforts to trace those responsible.

In addition, security patrols increased in surrounding localities to prevent further incidents.

Political and social circles strongly condemned the bombing, describing it as an attempt to sabotage peace in the region. They called on authorities to bring those responsible to justice and ensure accountability.

As investigations continue, officials said restoring security and maintaining public confidence remain top priorities in the aftermath of the attack.
