German media, citing ARD research, report that the Taliban have recalled 13 diplomats who were sent to Germany prior to their return to power in 2021, leaving only three diplomats currently in place.
The report adds that the Taliban are attempting to send additional diplomats to Germany, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to replace the current chargé d’affaires. These developments highlight the Taliban’s persistent struggle to gain legitimacy and the negative perception of their governance on the international stage.
