Srinagar : 26 April 2025: The Resistance Front (TRF) has denied involvement in the Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, blaming a cyber intrusion for confusion. TRF claimed an unauthorized message from one of its platforms falsely linked the group to the incident.

Earlier, The Resistance Front had reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed 26 people and injured several others. However, after strong protests across Kashmir, the group issued a public denial.

TRF released a statement on its website, saying, “The Resistance Front unequivocally denies any involvement in the Pahalgam incident.” It added that any association with the event was part of a campaign to malign the Kashmiri resistance.

The statement explained that a digital platform managed by the group was compromised. After conducting an internal audit, TRF suggested Indian cyber-intelligence operatives could have orchestrated the breach.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs had designated TRF as an unlawful organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in 2023. Officials accused it of supporting infiltration and arms smuggling from Pakistan into Indian-administered Kashmir.

Meanwhile, locals protested vehemently after the initial claim of responsibility, blaming outside interference for instability in the region.

Moreover, authorities identified Ahsan Ul Haq Sheikh as a suspect. His house in Pulwama district was razed after an explosion linked to the investigation. Diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan remain high, particularly following the escalation after the Pahalgam attack.
