Trade relations between Uzbekistan and Ukraine continue to show a steady upward trend, with a significant increase in trade volume recorded in the early months of 2026. According to the latest data released by Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee on March 31, 2026, the total trade volume between the two countries reached $35.4 million in January 2026.
The report indicates that this figure reflects a 14.2% increase compared to January 2025, when trade stood at $31 million. Economists have described this development as highly positive, noting that when compared to January 2024, when trade volume was $18.1 million, it represents an almost doubling — a 95.6% increase over two years.
These figures clearly show that economic and trade ties between the two countries are strengthening rapidly, with Ukraine maintaining its position among Uzbekistan’s top 20 trading partners.
The report further states that Uzbekistan’s overall foreign trade has also seen notable growth, reaching $5.8 billion in January 2026. This marks an increase of $1.32 billion, or 29.2%, compared to the same period in 2025.
It is worth noting that trade activity across the region is generally on the rise, as seen last year when trade volume between Turkmenistan and the European Union also doubled. Uzbekistan’s economic growth is being attributed to its expanding access to global markets and effective trade policies.
