Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump once again confirmed that seven fighter jets were destroyed during the Pakistan-India war before the ceasefire was reached. Outside the White House, he told reporters—repeating the point for the 43rd time.

He said, “By the time we secured a ceasefire, seven jets had already been shot down, and tensions between the two nations were escalating rapidly.”

Trump stressed that the conflict between India and Pakistan was of a unique nature, as it had the potential to spiral into a global war. He added that he intervened by warning both countries that the United States would withdraw trade and economic cooperation if hostilities continued. I gave them 24 hours to agree to talks,” he said. “They came to the table within the deadline.”

The U.S. President further stated that he used every authority and resource available to halt the conflict, emphasizing, We have stopped many wars that the world thought could never be stopped.”

Trump drew a parallel with his current efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting his record of achieving ceasefires without using the term “ceasefire” in agreements. In recent months, I have facilitated six such agreements,” he said, acknowledging doubts about their long-term sustainability but underscoring the importance of dialogue.
