Islamabad — Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhary, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has accused India, Israel, and Afghanistan of jointly orchestrating a coordinated disinformation campaign to target Pakistan through hybrid warfare and propaganda operations. He said this nexus aims to damage Pakistan’s international standing, manipulate perceptions, and weaken internal cohesion.
Speaking to HTN World Correspondent Usama Qazzafi during a press interaction, Tarar explained that Pakistan has recently witnessed a surge in hostile narratives emerging from multiple regional sources. He asserted that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Israel’s Mossad were leading this campaign, while Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) was amplifying these narratives through digital media and regional channels.

India’s Propaganda Playbook and Afghanistan’s Influence
The minister noted that Afghanistan has adopted India’s propaganda tactics and is learning how to wage an information war against Pakistan. He pointed out that Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s recent remarks on Kashmir during his visit to New Delhi were entirely unprovoked and politically motivated, describing them as an attempt to echo India’s stance for relevance. Tarar criticized Kabul’s interference in the Kashmir issue, stating that Afghanistan’s opinion carries no weight in international diplomacy and only reflects its alignment with India’s disinformation strategy.
Afghan Media Echoing Anti-Pakistan Narratives
The information minister highlighted how several Afghan media outlets, influenced by Indian networks, have published fabricated stories claiming attacks on Islamabad. Dismissing these reports, he remarked that such statements were absurd and reflected a lack of seriousness on Afghanistan’s part.
He further stated that Pakistan had supported and hosted millions of Afghan refugees for decades, providing them with shelter and livelihood. Yet, Afghan media continues to spread baseless narratives against Islamabad.
Tarar also underlined the internal contradictions within Afghanistan, saying that a country that denies education and freedom to its own women should not be lecturing others on democracy or human rights.
Hybrid and Psychological Warfare Intensifying
The minister warned that a systematic disinformation and psychological warfare campaign against Pakistan has intensified in recent months, particularly across digital platforms. He said this triad of RAW, Mossad, and GDI is using coordinated online propaganda, fake news, and manipulated narratives to distort Pakistan’s image globally and create divisions internally.
According to Tarar, this nexus became visible not only during past Indo-Pak confrontations but also during recent border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where both India and Afghanistan appeared aligned in their narratives against Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Strategic Resilience
Reaffirming confidence in Pakistan’s strength, Tarar stated that the Afghan–Indian collaboration has been fully exposed and has had no real impact on Pakistan’s stability. He emphasized that Pakistan is a far stronger and more capable state, with powerful institutions and a resilient public.
He added that Pakistan’s armed forces and security apparatus remain fully prepared to counter all forms of hybrid, digital, and information warfare, highlighting that Pakistan’s defensive capabilities and national unity remain intact despite external provocations.
Information Warfare: The Emerging Frontline
Analysts believe that Tarar’s statement reflects Pakistan’s broader recognition of the information domain as a new battlefield in modern geopolitics. The growing use of misinformation, digital manipulation, and psychological tactics by foreign intelligence agencies indicates a shift toward non-kinetic warfare designed to destabilize states from within.
Pakistan, officials suggest, must continue strengthening its information security, digital awareness, and strategic communication mechanisms to safeguard its sovereignty in an increasingly interconnected world.
