Islamabad – Pakistan has issued a strong diplomatic protest following a tragic terrorist attack on a military camp in North Waziristan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission over the incident that led to the loss of four soldiers.

Pakistan denounced the violence in a formal statement and expressed serious concerns over the continued use of Afghan Soil by militant groups to make cross-border attacks.

The Ministry expressed deep frustration over the support and facilitation reportedly provided to groups like the TTP.

Authorities stressed that letting such groups act freely is against international commitments made by the current leaders of Afghanistan.

For families living near the border, the continued instability originating from across the line remains a constant source of fear and heartbreak.

A Call for Immediate Accountability

Pakistan has insisted on an in-depth investigation into this recent attack. The government called on the Afghan government to go beyond talking and initiate practical and verifiable steps to destroy terror networks.

The region would be one step closer to the peace that both countries urgently require by refusing to give leadership figures and fighters the right to use Afghan Soil.

The message that was sent to the Afghan diplomat was very clear that the present-day permissive climate of militants should be stopped.

Pakistan has indicated that it has the duty to defend its people, and it will not overlook the threats arising from neighboring lands. This is regarded as a crucial move to ensure that the government in Kabul is held to account for security agreements.
