Clash at the Shuroobod Border District
A violent confrontation occurred on the Tajik border when terrorists arriving from Afghanistan attempted an infiltration. As a result of this terrorist attack on Tajikistan, two Tajik security personnel and three terrorists were killed. The incident took place in the Shamsiddin Shohin (Shuroobod) district of the Khatlon Region.
Infiltration via Panj River from Badakhshan



According to sources, a group of ten terrorists led by Commander Abu Bakr Tajiki crossed the Panj River from the Khwahan area of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province to enter Tajikistan. Centers for “Jamaat Ansarullah” (the Tajik Taliban) are established in Badakhshan, where such terrorist attack on Tajikistan incidents are continuously planned.
Casualties and Recovery of US-Made Weapons
Upon receiving intelligence, Tajik security forces raided the terrorists’ hideout in a mountainous area. In the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, three terrorists, including Abu Bakr Tajiki, were killed, while one was captured in an injured condition. Following this terrorist attack on Tajikistan, a large quantity of weaponry was recovered from the scene, including M4 rifles and grenades left behind by the United States in Afghanistan.
