A technical meeting was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to review preparations for the upcoming visit of the OIC Contact Group on Afghanistan to Kabul, according to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Jeddah.
The meeting focused on finalizing the agenda and addressing organizational and technical matters related to the visit.
Diplomats from OIC member states stressed the need for a coordinated approach in engaging with Afghanistan to ensure the visit produces meaningful results.
In a statement, the Kazakh consulate said participants agreed that unity among member countries would be essential for the effectiveness of the mission.
So far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has not issued any comment on the planned visit.
However, analysts believe the engagement could help improve coordination between Afghanistan and Islamic countries.
Analysts say the visit could open doors for cooperation and might benefit the current Afghan government in terms of policy support and international engagement.
However, the visit may not bring immediate changes on the ground but could still serve as a positive step for diplomatic relations.
The OIC, which has 57 member states, aims to promote cooperation and peace across the Islamic world.
