The Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan, Alexander Sergeyevich, met with Abdul Ghafar Bahr, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan, along with Afghan embassy officials, to discuss ways to strengthen friendly relations and expand political, economic, and diplomatic cooperation between the two sides.

Both parties emphasized the importance of mutual collaboration to support stability, economic growth, and regional integration in Central Asia. The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation.

Belarus Proposes Strategic Initiatives for Cooperation

During the discussions, the Belarusian side proposed appointing a non-resident representative for Afghanistan and establishing a joint industrial working group. They suggested cooperation on a powdered milk production project in Termez and initiatives to expand collaboration in the health sector.

Officials also discussed facilitating visas for Afghan traders and enhancing consular cooperation to make trade and diplomatic engagement smoother. These proposals aim to strengthen economic ties and support mutual development between the two nations.

Participation in Regional Projects Emphasizes Integration

Both sides expressed interest in participating in key regional projects, including Afghan-Trans, TAPI, and CASA-1000, to boost regional connectivity and energy infrastructure. These initiatives are expected to create economic opportunities, enhance trade, and promote long-term stability in the region.

The meeting reflects the commitment of Belarus and Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate to expand diplomatic relations and work collaboratively on projects that benefit their economies and regional development.
