Claims of Pakistani soldiers operating in Gaza have gone viral, but no evidence supports them. Here’s what the facts actually show [IC: by AFP]

A viral post by Javed Hashmi has claimed that Pakistani soldiers are operating in Gaza Strip, allegedly involved in “tunnel clearance,” casualties and a supposed effort to disarm Hamas.

The post attributes sweeping assertions to unnamed sources and invokes religious language to lend weight to a story that has no verification.

These claims are false, irresponsible and dangerous in a region already defined by conflict and misinformation.

No Pakistani military presence in Gaza

There is no Pakistani military deployment in Gaza. Pakistan has neither a mandate nor an operational role inside the territory. Any overseas deployment of Pakistani troops would be public, documented and subject to state-level processes, parliamentary oversight and international reporting. None of that exists here.

Equally, there are no evidences of confirmed casualties involving Pakistani personnel in Gaza because there are no Pakistani personnel there. No statement from Pakistan Army, no international media confirmation and no diplomatic acknowledgment supports the claim.

The “tunnel clearance” story is not an error of interpretation; it is a complete fabrication. In an age of instant verification such assertions would be immediately corroborated if they were true. They have not been.

Disarming Gaza is not Pakistan’s role

Pakistan has no authority to “disarm” any actor in Gaza. The country’s long-stated position on Palestine is diplomatic and humanitarian: advocacy at international forums, humanitarian assistance and calls for ceasefire and protection of civilians.

Suggesting otherwise reflects a basic misunderstanding of international law and Pakistan’s foreign policy.

More troubling is the use of religious language and alleged fatwas to amplify an unverified story. Faith must not be weaponized to legitimize falsehoods.

No credible scholarly body has issued rulings tied to this claim, and attaching religion to an invented narrative only deepens confusion and harms public trust.

Public figures carry heightened responsibility. Claims of foreign deployments, casualties, and religious decrees cannot be treated as casual opinion. They risk inflaming emotions, undermining national institutions and feeding hostile propaganda.
