Washington — The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) at the US State Department has reaffirmed its support for Pakistan in the aftermath of recent militant attacks in Balochistan, one of Pakistan’s most sensitive regions.

In a statement posted on the official SCA account, the bureau emphasized that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) remains a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. The US also expressed its commitment to supporting efforts to hold those responsible for the attacks accountable.

Posts attributable to Assistant Secretary Kapur are signed “SPK,” according to the bureau’s social media guidelines. The statement reflects continued US collaboration with Pakistan in counterterrorism initiatives and underscores Washington’s concern for regional stability.

The Balochistan attacks come amid ongoing security challenges in Pakistan, where militant groups continue to threaten civilians and government infrastructure. US officials reiterated the importance of coordinated action to prevent further violence and to bring perpetrators to justice.
