A video circulating online and shared by Taliban-linked social media accounts, falsely presented as a message from Hamas has been exposed as manipulated propaganda aimed at misleading audiences and pushing extremist narratives.
Analysts say the clip is not an authentic Hamas statement and shows clear signs of distortion and deliberate misattribution.
Close examination of the video reveals visual identifiers and markings associated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), not Hamas. This alone undermines the claim that the footage originated from Hamas.
Security observers note that Hamas does not issue official messages through anonymous or Taliban-linked social media accounts, making the attribution highly suspect.
Experts say the Afghan Taliban have a documented history of spreading false or misleading content to advance their own agenda. By impersonating Hamas, Taliban propagandists are attempting to borrow legitimacy from the Palestinian cause while promoting narratives that serve extremist objectives.
Such tactics rely on emotional manipulation rather than verified facts and often collapse under scrutiny.
Officials have also rejected claims circulating alongside the video that Pakistan has shifted its position on Palestine or entered into any covert security arrangement. Pakistan’s participation in international peace discussions, including forums focused on Gaza has been limited to supporting efforts to halt civilian killings and reduce suffering.
There has been no question of Pakistan participating in any move to disarm Hamas.
Pakistan’s stance on Palestine remains unchanged. Islamabad continues to support a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds as the capital of an independent Palestinian state.
Claims suggesting otherwise are being described as deliberate disinformation.
Analysts further point out contradictions in Taliban messaging. While publicly denouncing the United States, the group continues to benefit from international financial flows.
At the same time, reports of Taliban openness to ties with Israel and their proximity to India, weaken their manufactured pro-Palestinian narrative.
Observers warn that such propaganda campaigns are designed to incite sentiment and confusion. When verified, however, these narratives consistently fail reinforcing the need for critical scrutiny and fact-based assessment of online content.
