On social media, a new legal debate has arisen over the direct threats made by Noreen Khan, sister of the PTI founder, toward government officer Abdul Ghafoor Anjum. Noreen Khan shared a photo of the jail officer on her former ‘X’ (previously Twitter) account, holding him allegedly responsible for the founder’s eyesight and issuing serious threats of consequences.

Inflammatory Post and PECA Act

In her post, Noreen Khan wrote: “Everything will be remembered; your end will be very bad. Your eyes will not function, nor will your hands and feet move. You are responsible for ending the PTI founder’s eyesight.” Following this provocative message, legal experts and social media users have described the act as tantamount to harassment and endangerment of a public servant. Experts say the action constitutes a punishable offense under the PECA Act.

Pressure on Authorities and Calls for Action

Political circles and civil society organizations have expressed serious concern over this manner of verbal abuse and provocation against a government employee. Critics argue that such conduct not only puts unnecessary pressure on state institutions but also risks causing unrest and undermining the rule of law. Public and legal circles are now demanding that the FIA Cybercrime Wing take immediate notice of this harassment incident through digital platforms and initiate legal proceedings.
