The iconic Multan Sultans return to the PSL for 2026 after a major franchise reshuffle. CD Ventures now owns the team, rebranding the former Sialkot Stallionz, bringing South Punjab’s pride back to the league with renewed energy and vision.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Sialkot Stallionz has officially been rebranded as Multan Sultans after CD Ventures acquired a majority stake in the team. The announcement was made at a press conference in Lahore, attended by PSL CEO Salman Naseer, franchise owner Hamza Majeed, and CD Ventures head Gohar Shah.
CD Ventures took over the franchise from OZ Developers, who had purchased it for Rs1.85 billion in January. With the new investment, the franchise’s valuation has risen to Rs2 billion. Following the takeover, Gohar Shah requested the name change, which was approved by the PSL and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Speaking at the event, Gohar Shah highlighted the importance of reviving the Multan identity, noting the region’s strong connection to cricket. He outlined his “Total Cricket” approach to align the team’s success with the broader needs of Pakistan cricket. Pre-season preparations will guide final decisions on squad and playing combinations.
Despite the rebranding, Majeed assured Sialkot fans that the franchise would honor its roots. Transport arrangements will allow supporters to attend matches in Multan, and elements of the Stallionz identity will remain in campaigns.
This ownership and branding change sets the stage for PSL Season 11, starting on March 26 across five venues in Pakistan. By returning to the Multan Sultans identity, the franchise aims to strengthen its fan base and regional connection, ensuring a strong start under new management and renewed energy.
