Washington – Retired US Army Colonel and former Pentagon advisor Doug A. Macgregor has claimed that the United States Navy is utilizing Indian ports in activities related to rising tensions with Iran.
Speaking during an interview on OAN TV’s The Matt Gaetz Show, Macgregor alleged that American naval operations are making use of facilities in India as part of broader strategic positioning in the region. He did not provide detailed evidence during the broadcast but suggested that such cooperation reflects deepening defense coordination between Washington and New Delhi.
Macgregor, who previously served as an advisor to the US Secretary of Defense, is known for his outspoken commentary on US foreign policy and military strategy. His remarks come amid heightened regional sensitivities involving Iran and increased naval deployments across the Indian Ocean and surrounding waterways.
Neither US nor Indian officials have publicly confirmed the specific claim referenced in the interview. Defense analysts note that the United States and India have strengthened military ties in recent years, including logistics-sharing agreements that allow reciprocal access to certain military facilities. However, the operational details of such arrangements are typically not disclosed publicly.
The comments have sparked discussion online, particularly among observers monitoring geopolitical developments involving Iran, the United States, and regional powers. As of now, the claim remains unverified, and no official statement has been issued directly addressing the allegation raised during the television interview.
