Faisalabad secured a thrilling 15-run victory over Peshawar in the 13th match of the National T20 Cup 2026 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on Friday, thanks to a strong all-round performance led by Afaq Afridi and Atiq-ur-Rehman.

Rehman’s Explosive Knock Powers Faisalabad

After being asked to bat first by Peshawar captain Iftikhar Ahmed, Faisalabad posted a competitive total of 170 for 9 in their 20 overs.

Opening batter Atiq-ur-Rehman led the charge with a brilliant 72 off 44 balls, smashing 10 boundaries in an aggressive innings that earned him the Player of the Match award.

He received valuable support from captain Muhammad Irfan Khan, who contributed 32 runs, while all-rounder Mubasir Khan added a useful 27-run cameo.

For Peshawar, bowlers Usman Khan and Mohammad Nawaz picked up two wickets each, while Ihsanullah, Mohammad Shoaib, and Israrullah claimed one wicket apiece.

Afaq Afridi Leads Bowling Charge

Chasing 171 runs, Peshawar struggled to build momentum and were eventually bowled out for 155 in 19.5 overs, handing Faisalabad a well-earned victory.

Middle-order batter Israrullah fought hard with a determined 47 off 40 balls, while Nabi Gul contributed 43 from 39 deliveries. Apart from them, only Mohammad Imran Jr (18 not out), opener Abuzar Tariq, and captain Iftikhar Ahmed managed to reach double figures.

Leading the bowling attack for Faisalabad, Afaq Afridi delivered a match-winning spell, taking four wickets for 38 runs in 3.5 overs. He was well supported by Shehzad Gul with three wickets, while Zaman Khan and Momin Qamar picked up one wicket each.

The victory marks an important win for Faisalabad in the ongoing tournament, while Peshawar suffered their second defeat in three matches in the National T20 Cup 2026.
