Pakistan clarifies that recent airstrikes in Kabul targeted terrorist hideouts, not civilian areas or hospitals.

India has alleged that Pakistan conducted a bombing on a hospital in Kabul last night. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs condemned the alleged attack, calling it cowardly.

Pakistan, however, strongly rejected the claims, labeling them as baseless, misleading, and contrary to facts. Officials clarified that all operations were carried out with extreme precision and targeted solely at military installations linked to terrorist groups. The Pakistani spokesperson emphasized that no civilian infrastructure, particularly hospitals, was targeted, and there was no intention to harm civilian populations. The statement further noted that propaganda by certain elements aims to distort ground realities.

According to the official stance, the airstrikes conducted on the night of 16 March targeted only those facilities used by terrorist groups for support and weapon storage, based on advanced intelligence and technology. Secondary explosions observed at the targeted locations clearly indicate the presence of large quantities of weapons and explosives, which in no way points to hospitals or civilian centers.

Additionally, independent sources and some local videos suggest that incidents of fire or damage are being deliberately portrayed in a manner intended to shape international opinion against Pakistan. Analysts argue that India’s recent statements may be an attempt to increase diplomatic pressure and divert attention, as India itself has faced global criticism over serious human rights violations, extrajudicial killings, and strict measures against Muslim populations in occupied Kashmir. Similarly, multiple reports of discrimination and violence against minorities, particularly Muslims and other religious groups, have emerged from within India, raising international concern.

Pakistan’s statement clarified that its operations are defensive in nature, aimed at protecting its territory and citizens from terrorism. Officials asserted that actions against facilities sheltering terrorist groups were conducted in accordance with international law, with maximum precautions taken to avoid civilian harm.
