Defense and legal experts have strongly rejected attempts by the Afghan Taliban-affiliated media platform “Al-Marsad” to compare Pakistan with Israel, describing it as a coordinated political propaganda effort. According to experts, the sole purpose of this misleading narrative is to divert global attention from the real issue of terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan and the facilitation of the TTP.

Analysts have clarified that Pakistan emerged on the map in 1947 under the “Two-Nation Theory” as a representation of Muslims in the subcontinent, whereas Israel’s establishment in 1948 resulted from the forced displacement of Palestinians and occupation of their land. They emphasized that any comparison between the two is historically and morally untenable. Furthermore, there exists no legal basis at the level of the United Nations or the International Court of Justice to declare Pakistan an “occupying state,” while Palestine is internationally recognized as an occupied territory.

Experts have also termed the comparison between Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Hamas as a serious mischaracterization, stating that Hamas is engaged in resistance against a foreign occupying force, whereas the TTP targets mosques, schools, and innocent civilians within a sovereign Muslim state. Such a narrative, they argue, reflects a “Kharijite-style” distortion aimed at providing religious justification for violence against a Muslim state.

According to the report, facts suggest otherwise, indicating that nearly 23,000 militants are still present in Afghanistan, posing a continuous threat to regional peace. Experts maintain that this type of framing serves merely as a cover to obscure the role of the TTP in carrying out terrorist activities inside Pakistan.
