Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East continue to receive international recognition. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, commending Pakistan’s key role in facilitating the initial ceasefire agreement.
During the conversation, the French foreign minister reaffirmed support for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and the “Islamabad Process” aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region. He expressed confidence that Pakistan’s mediation and efforts would contribute to long-term regional stability.
Concern Over Situation in Lebanon
The two leaders also held detailed discussions on the situation in Lebanon. Both foreign ministers expressed deep concern over recent serious violations of the ceasefire in the country.
They emphasized that full respect for and implementation of the ceasefire agreement is essential to protect civilian lives and ensure peace in the region.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Beyond regional issues, Ishaq Dar and Jean-Noël Barrot reviewed the current state of bilateral relations between Pakistan and France. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in economic and trade sectors and agreed to maintain close coordination in the future.
Diplomatic experts view this engagement as a continuation of Pakistan’s recent successful foreign policy, which has once again positioned the country as a credible and important player in resolving global conflicts.
