Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Usman Jadoon, has strongly raised concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation in Lebanon during an important meeting of OIC ambassadors in New York.

The meeting focused on the deteriorating crisis in Lebanon, where Jadoon expressed deep concern over the growing human suffering and warned that the situation continues to worsen with each passing day. He described Israeli bombardment in southern regions and densely populated areas as a serious threat to civilians.

Support for Lebanon’s Sovereignty

The Pakistani envoy reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He termed the ongoing Israeli military actions a clear violation of international humanitarian law and called for an immediate end to the destruction of civilian infrastructure.

He also welcomed steps taken by the Lebanese government to restore stability and strengthen state authority, including the cabinet decision of March 2.

Condemnation of Attacks on Peacekeepers

Pakistan strongly condemned Israeli attacks on United Nations peacekeeping forces, in which several personnel were reportedly injured. The envoy urged the international community to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to affected areas and secure emergency funding.

Call for Diplomacy and De-escalation

Usman Jadoon stressed that preventing further regional deterioration requires restraint, de-escalation, and renewed diplomatic engagement. He emphasized that lasting peace can only be achieved through political dialogue and strict adherence to international law.
