Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, discussing the evolving regional situation, ongoing tensions in the Middle East, and ceasefire-related developments.

According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the discussions focused on strengthening coordination for regional peace efforts amid rising instability in the broader Middle East.

Military And Diplomatic Coordination Discussed

During the call between Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Iranian foreign minister, matters related to border security and defence cooperation were also reviewed. Both sides agreed on the importance of restraint by all parties to prevent further escalation in an already volatile regional environment.

Pakistan’s military leadership reiterated its support for all initiatives aimed at promoting stability and peace in the region, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility among stakeholders.
