Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has said that recent talks between the Taliban and Pakistan held in the Chinese city of Urumqi produced positive results. Speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, he described the discussions as useful for improving bilateral understanding.

He also stressed that both sides showed willingness to continue engagement. According to him, such diplomatic contact can help reduce tensions and open doors for cooperation in the region. In addition, he called for a more stable and respectful tone in public communication between the two countries.

Claims on Internal Stability and Political Messaging
During his remarks, Muttaqi claimed that there is currently no organized opposition movement inside Afghanistan that poses a serious challenge to Taliban authority. He said that no region in the country has an active command structure opposing the government. However, these claims remain disputed by other Afghan political groups and observers who point to ongoing resistance activity in some areas.

Meanwhile, international analysts continue to raise concerns about governance issues and restrictions in Afghanistan, especially related to education and civil rights. These concerns, they argue, affect the broader political acceptance of the current system. Despite this, the Taliban leadership maintains that stability has improved since taking control.

Cultural Engagement and Regional Relations
In another development, Muttaqi highlighted Afghanistan’s cultural and historical ties with neighboring countries during a traditional wrestling festival held in Kabul. The event brought together athletes from Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye. He said such events help build friendship and understanding across the region.

Transitioning to diplomatic matters, the Foreign Minister also instructed officials and media representatives to adopt a responsible approach in discussions about Pakistan. He revealed that recent meetings between Taliban and Pakistani representatives in Urumqi had positive outcomes. According to him, careful and constructive communication is important for sustaining progress in bilateral relations.

He further emphasized that social media and diplomatic messaging should avoid unnecessary tension. Instead, he urged all sides to support dialogue and cooperation. In conclusion, he said that continued engagement between Afghanistan and Pakistan could help strengthen regional stability if handled with care and consistency.
