764 online network child exploitation FBI warning

Authorities warn parents about the 764 online network targeting children through gaming platforms using blackmail tactics.

April 27, 2026

The United States Department of Justice along with Canadian authorities has designated an online network known as “764” as a terrorist organization. The group is reportedly operating across popular gaming platforms such as Discord, Roblox, and Minecraft, targeting children as young as nine years old.

From Texas to Global Expansion

According to reports, the network originated in 2021 with a 15-year-old boy in Texas, but has since expanded rapidly into what authorities describe as a global criminal ecosystem. The FBI says more than 250 investigations are currently underway, while arrests have already been made in at least eight countries in cases involving kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder-related charges.

Alleged Method of Operation

Investigators reveal that members of the group identify vulnerable children online, particularly those experiencing loneliness or psychological stress. They initially build fake friendships before obtaining compromising images and using them for blackmail.

Authorities say victims are then coerced into self-harm, cruelty toward animals, and producing explicit live content under extreme psychological pressure.

Warning to Parents

Security agencies and psychologists have urged parents to closely monitor their children’s online activity, especially on gaming applications and social media platforms. Officials warn that perpetrators within the network share abusive content internally to gain status within the group, making early detection and supervision critical to protecting minors from exploitation.
