Pakistan’s military has carried out a strong retaliatory response following reported cross-border firing and attempted infiltration in the Angoor Adda Zolokhel area of South Waziristan, according to security sources.
Officials say militants linked to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), described by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij, allegedly attempted to infiltrate Pakistani territory using positions near Afghan border posts. The attempt was foiled by security forces deployed along the border.
Civilian Injuries Reported
Sources further claim that after the infiltration attempt failed, firing from across the border targeted civilian areas inside Pakistan. As a result, three civilians, including two women, were injured and shifted to a hospital in Wana for medical treatment.
Retaliatory Action
In response, the Pakistan Army targeted the sources of fire, with officials stating that multiple posts across the border were destroyed during the operation.
Security authorities maintain that the military remains fully prepared to respond to any cross-border aggression or support provided to militant elements. Additional security measures have been enforced in the area, and the situation continues to be closely monitored.
