Gaza City has once again been hit by intense Israeli airstrikes. In the latest incident, Hamas senior leader Khalil al-Hayya reportedly lost his fourth son.

According to Hamas official Basem Naim, the strike in Gaza City killed Azzam al-Hayya. The news has added to the long list of personal losses faced by the family over many years of conflict.

Khalil al-Hayya is considered one of the key figures in Hamas leadership based outside Gaza. He has remained on Israel’s target list for a long time due to his political and military role.

A Long History of Family Casualties Amid Ongoing War

Over the years, the al-Hayya family has repeatedly suffered during Israeli military operations.

According to Hamas sources, two of his sons were killed during the 2008 and 2014 Israeli offensives in Gaza. Later, another son was reportedly killed in a suspected strike in Doha, Qatar, last year, which targeted Hamas leadership.

With the latest reported death, Khalil al-Hayya has now lost four sons in total, while he himself has survived multiple attacks.

Escalating Violence Deepens Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis

Meanwhile, the wider situation in Gaza continues to worsen as airstrikes intensify across residential and civilian areas.

As a result, thousands of civilians have reportedly been killed, and entire communities remain under severe pressure. Humanitarian conditions are becoming increasingly critical.

In addition, reports suggest that Hamas leadership and their families are being increasingly targeted as the conflict continues with no clear sign of de-escalation.
